“Eve Clone Babel Documentation I D” is one of the series of digital prints derived from the “Eve Clone Babel” film series. The blue wireframe “Eve Clone” stands proudly with open arms at the top of the blue Babel Tower. The digital city composed of blue wireframe architecture beneath the tower symbolizes the contemporary Babel. It forms a striking contrast with the ancient Babel Tower and mountainous landscape in the background, juxtaposing different temporalities, reality and virtuality, and ancient and digital civilizations. This contrast suggests that the “Eve Clone” is able to traverse history and exist across multiple times and spaces.
The blue wireframe city beneath the Babel Tower is composed of architectural forms deliberately captured by the artist from real 3D building models on Google Maps. These landmarks include the Empire State Building in New York, Taipei 101, the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the United Nations Headquarters, the European Union buildings, Cologne Cathedral, the British Library, and Red Square. They are all symbols of political and cultural power and highlight the grand Babylon constructed by the civilization that humanity proudly glorifies.
On both sides of the image, traces and notations of the artist’s digital creative process are intentionally re-presented, such as 3D software interface elements, icons, symbols, and dimensional markers. Finally, related biblical verses are handwritten directly onto the work, overlaid with hand-drawn lines and patterns. Through these multilayered techniques, the work explores the interrelationships among “Eve Clone,” “Babel Tower,” “technological civilization,” and “biblical prophecy,” articulating a unique creative vision and artistic language.
